Dolores Snyder lived in London for 3 years where she honed her culinary skills at the Cordon Bleu and the Dieppe Cookery School in France. Upon her return to the USA, she opened the Gourmet Cookery School in the Dallas Metroplex in 1976 specializing in culinary training classes.

She is a founding member of the James Beard Foundation and a Certified Culinary Professional of the International Association of Culinary Professionals.

Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Mail on Sunday in London, Food Arts, Southern Accents, Southern Living, Victoria Magazine, The Saturday Evening Post and numerous Texas newspapers.

Dolores founded the Dallas Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier whose members are dedicated to supporting and promoting the achievement of women in the arts of the table and fostering excellence through educational and charitable activities. The Dallas Chapter of LDE honored her by endowing a scholarship in her name at the University of Texas, Austin, in Nutritional Science.
